lost lake family camping

we had a super fun camping trip last weekend with the nearly (we missed a few folks) entire campbell and gazarine families up at the beautiful lost lake on mt.hood.

really really a good time.  just wonderful to all have a few days to hang out together outside of the typical holiday setting...even my 90 year old grandmother came!!

.....there was some canoeing

.... and water play

...just relaxing by the water's edge

....and sitting around the campfire with beers and s'mores

...and some ladder golf (who knew this would be such a fun game)

....a little hammock time

and look at these gems!!.....i dug out these lovely pictures of old from a 1982 family camping at lost lake...i mean those tent relics, and the huge style points for the (still) 70's looks!!!

my uncle dick and aunt marcia (how cute are they!)
 my uncle karl
 my brother ian
uncle karl, ian, cousin shawn, i think maybe jim, and grandma relaxing

very glad to get back up to lost lake and create those same wonderful memories for our kids.  hopefully it won't be another 30yrs before we do it again!!

july fourth

boy oh boy am i behind...better get this posted before its august 4th!

so the fourth was a fun filled weekend! we were again in the fourth of july parade this time with gorge grown.  i agreed (in a moment of weakness) to wear the pear costume to represent our local food. there were some other fruits and vegetables and my niece wore the sweet little chicken costume!

the campbell's (and my dear friend emily) then gathered at our house for burgers and beers. good times!

we then went to our friends slip n slide party...a highlight of the day yet again.

we watched the hood river fireworks at yet another party, but did not take a single picture.

then...oh yes it was a full weekend....we went up to my dad's lake house. both my sister and brothers were there and all the grandkids....great photo op.

a little tubing and the kids tried some water-skiing.no one got up, but ashley sure got close!

it was all and all a fabulous fourth celebration!!
